- who this person is
- how you know him or her
- what kinds of food he/she cooks
The important things is explain why you think this person is good at cooking.
You will have one to two minutes to speak about the topic. You have one minute to consider what you will say. If you want, you can make some notes to help you.
Sample Answer
I believe we all enjoy learning about good foods and how they are prepared. But, I think it's also a good thing that we sometimes get to know the person or cook behind the screen who works so hard to prepare those foods. Mrs Gina is one such great cook, and I'd like to tell you about her today.
I've known this person for a long time because she is the wife of one of my older cousins. She is also a teacher - a very busy teacher, I might add - and it is safe to say that she adores her job. But, despite being a busy and excellent teacher, one of the few things she really enjoys doing is cooking her favorite foods whenever she has time for herself. Anyway, I don't get invited to my sister-in-house law's very often, obviously because she is a busy person, but when I do, I almost never leave without eating some really delicious foods.
These delectable foods mostly consist of oriental dishes prepared with a perfect combination of aromatic herbs, powerful sauces, and spices. She enjoys cooking Indian dishes on occasion, but her spicy shrimp soup and sweet and sour chicken are head and shoulders above the rest. She also makes some delectable Japanese cakes (Japanese strawberry cake comes to mind) and desserts that would probably blow the minds of even the most discerning food critics.
Anyway, I believe Mrs Gina is a good cook because she is passionate about cooking and knows what types of foods to serve at what time to stimulate the taste buds of her family and friends. Furthermore, what distinguishes her is her ability to prepare tasty foods quickly.
